Structural Integration

"Using The Art of Balance to treat the whole person."

Pain and Trauma*

Structural Integration uses multiple techniques to address the root causes of pain and problems.

Injuries, surgeries, and trauma throughout life cause all kinds of compensatory habits to form in the body and mind. Structural Integration works toward unwinding past trauma to the body and build a new foundation for healing from the ground up.

Creating a plan to address physical issues involves postural evaluation as well as muscle testing to begin teaching the body to enjoy and crave balance.

Kinesiology protocols activate and strengthen weak muscles, Myofascial Release techniques soothe overactive muscles, and Craniosacral therapy treats the spine to help the body accept new proprioceptive changes.

Athletes*

For athletes, making sure the body is adequately aligned produces optimal results and prevents injuries.

When there is injury, individual muscles can react by shutting whole muscle groups down, throwing gait and proprioception off, and initiating poor compensatory habits. These discrepancies result in poorly timed muscle contraction patterns, pain, and ultimately inhibit performance.

Timely intervention post-injury can prevent overcompensation patterns from the beginning, aiding in the healing process with less pain to get you back in the game.

Sympathetic/Parasympathetic Balance

Craniosacral Therapy is excellent for calming the overstimulated nervous system. Sensory overload is a prevalent issue for children as well as adults. When the sympathetic (Fight or Flight) nervous system is always in ON mode, life seems overwhelming, and we may be living as if a lion is chasing us. CST activates the parasympathetic (Rest and Digest) nervous system by aligning the spine and opening the facial spaces to allow for unobstructed circulation of blood, lymph, and cerebrospinal fluid. Take time for yourself, a respite from the chaos.

*All New Patient appointments will require a 2-hour initial session for history and evaluation followed by CST session.
