Johnathan Puhalla, PA-C
I am a board-certified physician assistant trained in functional medicine, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. My focus is on the discovery and correction of the root causes driving the degradation of function, development of disease and promotion of poor aging. Leveraging my fitness background, I take a nutrition and movement-first approach to remedying sickness and improving longevity.
My focus areas include the following:
Prevention or management of chronic disease (heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease, neurocognitive decline); improvement and maintenance of function (strength, mobility, cardiovascular fitness) as we age; athlete health optimization; obesity medicine; military and law enforcement medicine; autoimmune disease; and full spectrum men’s health (incl. hormone replacement).
My approach includes long-form discussion to analyze genetics, sleep, diet, exercise, environmental exposures, stress and prior medical history. We will personalize labs and imaging based on your medical concerns and goals. Management includes modulation of behaviors, targeted supplementation and pharmaceutical treatment when indicated.
I enjoy spending time in the outdoors with my wife and three children skiing, camping and mountain biking. I am an Army veteran and Air Force reservist with a passion for fitness, nutrition and educating others.
